Nintendo Wii Game Review: Rampage Total Destruction

Being a fan of the "Rampage" NES game I had to check out "Rampage Total Destruction" for the Wii. Reading the back of the cartridge tells you about the 40 monsters you can unlock and play as during the course of the game. Each monster even has its own special abilities! When you start off you have access to about 10 of these monsters. The only problem is besides the different graphics of the monster the gameplay seems exactly the same from monster to monster. Almost like you are just using a different player skin.

Maybe my expectations were too high going into the game, remembering the NES original from my youth as being so great. I had alot of troubles just controlling the characters and the gameplay and I've grown up with gaming systems. Even after learning most of the controls and playing thru for about half an hour I was actually getting bored. This newer port is missing something... somehow the graphics along with the sensor controller took away the fun of punching the "A" and "B" buttons in a mindless frenzy on the NES.

Rating: 1 out of 5

Hint: The Wii Title Includes The Original "Rampage" and "Rampage World Tour"
