My Pet Monster

My Pet Monster was the first doll ever acceptable for Boys to play with as he was ugly and a monster. His 3 pound, 2 1/2 foot size, made him a giant toy for the time. I remember some friends of mine had Pet Monsters and the Orange Chain would ALWAYS be snapped in half by the time I would see them. You have to admit that it showed the 80s in full force with the Pet Monsters hair colors of orange and purple and his wild eyes. The Pet Monster was re-released but with a much happier smiling look. Which would you rather own?

The tv series involved a young boy, named Max, who goes to a toy store looking to purchase a new toy in the hopes that he will find a new best friend. What he finds is an odd looking monster with a pink face and purple body which also happens to wear mysterious cuffs around it's wrists. Max purchases the monster and returns home. He inspects the cuffs and attempts to remove them. In succeeding, he watches in amazement as his curious looking toy magically comes to life; growing six feet tall and having an appetite for garbage!
