Battle Beasts
These were amazing little action figures to play with as a kid. I used to have quite a few of them but lost them in a move. The one I currently own is Tarsier Tyrant and I purchased him on eBay a few years ago. Each figure has a heat sensitive rub sign on his chest and a hand-to-hand weapon. In the United States the Beasts were sold in packs of two. In Japan the figures were considered a spin-off of Transformers and called "Beastformers". As part of the Takara (company that marketed the figures) strategy, alot of the Battle Beasts appeared in the episode "Rebellion on Planet Beast" of the Japanese Transformers cartoon series "Headmasters."
"On a small world far from Cybertron the battle of machines wages on. This time it is taken up by the Battle Beasts, fierce creatures that are half-robot and half-beast. Each beast has the power of one of the three elements, Wood, Water, and Fire. Who will triumph in this elemental battle of beast versus beast?"
